Life…now

My initial thought was to call this post ‘ramblings from a tired woman’ – but I decided against it.

I know lately I have been slowing down on posts, I was faithfully trying for 3 a week – mostly just to keep myself going, and I enjoy it. And I truly appreciate everyone who checks out my blog, I do, I love creating things and sharing them for anyone and everyone.

So, I thought I would give you a little insight to our crazy life!

When I was outsourced, I was lucky to not have to go back to work and give blogging a try. We have been blessed to have our home paid off and we don’t live extravagantly. So, when that day came, my husband told me to relax and enjoy for a bit (check out my blog post Time for a Change). Then inflation started up and I had to go back to work part time in November 2023, mostly to help pay for food.

But back before the holidays we found out that our water bill was essentially tripling – which is really not good when you have ducks, like to garden, and you have a kid that tries their best to become a fish anytime the weather is over 60 degrees.

Something had to be done.

So I started looking for another part time job, but nothing happened. And after months and months of searching for another job, one kinda just fell into my lap. Literally, I was working my regular part time job Monday morning, by Wednesday I had been offered the new job, and the next Monday started working full time.

The good thing is that the new job is associated with the position I am already holding and both supervisors are willing to work with me to only work 40 hours a week. Which is a blessing, because I was having to look at full time in other places, and the thought of work 50+ hours a week wore me out, not to mention having another computer set up and learning all new systems.

So where does this all lead?

Well, now I am a full time working, homeschool mom with extra household responsibilities due to my husband being gone for long stretches during the week because of his job. We also have ducks, dogs. And since the beginning of March, I have been a guest designer for Split Coast Stamper Dirty Dozen. That is a great opportunity for my cards/papercrafts. But more on my plate. Oh, and did I mention that with the new job comes the prospect of finding our little piece of land in the country…something of which we have dreamed about for years.

sigh…when it rains it pours!

With everything going on, I don’t know the future of the blog. Essentially, it is just something therapeutic, I share what I like, but it is also very time consuming. Something of which, I don’t have a lot of right now.

Eventually, everything will get sorted out, my schedule will be normalized, my daughter will take a break from school (which is always a nice break for me also), and time won’t be as hard to come by, but until then, it could be interesting.

I am going to try to post at least once a week for a bit – probably mostly my photography. I have been slowly moving photos from my photography site over. They are pretty quick to post. And after my time in the Dirty dozen is done, I can post those projects – and that will be in September.

I hope you have a great day!
