Winter in Montana seems to last forever.

And when it’s cold, you have two choices. Stay inside and wait for spring or bundle up and go have fun. Our family tends to be in the latter group. We are always outside, a good portion of that is due to our ducks, checking on them, etc. But even before we added the fluffy butts to our family we would be out in the elements.

Some of the most serene photos can come from winter. The stillness that snow brings is therapeutic. When out shooting, if I capture a snowy scene that brings even a little bit of that stillness to mind, I know I am right where I want to be.
