Good morning! I hope everyone had a good week!
In my last post I was showing the fun Halloween decorations that I put up in our front yard, well today I wanted to show you the fun stuff we have inside – including a couple quick craft ideas!

Doesn’t this little guy look happy! He’s just hanging out with his pumpkin on a metal spiderweb cake stand. The black cauldron is a new addition to our Halloween decor, I was able to find it, and the little skeletons at Michaels.

Mini Witch Brooms For Sale
I will admit that the ideas for these little brooms came from Pinterest. My intent was to make a few and have them hanging from a tree branch, but while making them I thought it would be cute to make a stand and a little ‘For Sale’ sign.

They are super easy to make – you will need twigs about 8 inches long, jute rope and hemp cording. I cut about 6-7 lengths of jute cord about the same length as the twig, folded it in half – held it to the twig (which was the hardest part, you could hot glue it) then wrapped the hemp cord around it, and tied it with a knot.
The stand is 5 sticks, about the same size, just tied together with the hemp cord. The sign is actually a piece of lath, I broke it down to the size I wanted, drilled a couple holes in it, used a little wood stain (you could also use watered down paint) then just wrote the words on with a black marker. Attached a stick and slipped it through the hole of a mini-inverted pot.

Caged Crow

For this little crow, I looked everywhere. I could not find one anywhere in town, then luckily at my last stop while out running errands I found one! Yay!
I actually made the cage a couple years ago with the intention of making it a post, it was even sitting on the metal cake stand. But life happens and nothing really ever come of it. Then one day I was cleaning off a shelf where it was at, and I got the idea of a bird cage, thus the searching for a crow! Luckily, I was able to find one and he’s sitting nicely upon a wood round with some autumn leaves.
The cage itself is easy, you will need some decent gloves for working with the chicken wire.
The cage is a 2 foot piece of 2 foot chicken wire. So, a 2×2 foot square.
Take the chicken wire and bend it to make a tube, overlap just a bit and secure with the wire. I trimmed the extra wire from the top to the size I wanted, I think I took off 2 columns off the top of the wire. Then figure where you want your bow and scrunch it together (It’s easy to adjust) and add your bow.
Hope you have a great day!
