Pumpkin Topiary and Card #2
Hi everyone – I hope you are having a great week! Last Friday, I shared the first pumpkin topiary with matching card – and today is the next one.
Remember to check back next week – the last set of the series is very flashy!

Of the 3 sets that I made, I think this is my favorite.
I like them all for different reasons, but this one just seems like fall.

Card measures 4 3/4 inches x 7 inches
Supplies used:
- Ranger Letter it clear stamps – Thank you
- Stampin’Up! Autumn greetings stamp set
- Stampin’Up! Autumn Essential dies
- Cuttlebug embossing folder – Anna Griffin ‘Ornate Medallion’
- Recollections Halloween dies – pumpkins
- Parklane paper – Harvest
- gold ink
- fine glitter

How To:
I started by cutting the base card from kraft cardstock. I cut it down to 9 1/2 x 7 and folded it so that it measured 4 3/4 x 7 inches. I then cut a piece of black print paper, and white cardstock (for inside) down to 4 1/2 x 6 3/4. I kept a scrap of the each to use with the pumpkin dies, and I cut another small piece of black to 4 1/2 x almost 1 inch and used the edging die on one side of it. I then cut another piece of kraft cardstock down to 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches and embossed it. I then cut a piece of white print paper to 2 x 4 1/4 inches and kept a scrap piece to use with the pumpkin die. I then cut a piece of vellum to 3 x 6 1/2. I die cut the top and bottom long sides with the same edging die that was used on the small black piece. I then used gold ink and stamped the sentiment. While the ink was still wet, I lightly sprinkled fine glitter over it and tapped off the excess.
I then die cut the pumpkins. I cut the large pumpkin out of black, a small and medium pumpkin from orange, a small pumpkin from white cardstock and another small from white print paper. I also used the wheat die and cut 2 from black and 3 from kraft paper. Once all the cutting was done, I used the SU Autumn Greeting stamp set and stamped the small white cardstock pumpkin in gold.
I then used the gold ink and a dauber to lightly edge the kraft embossed piece, the large white cardstock piece and the small white pumpkin that was stamped on. I also dabbed gold ink on the wheat die cuts from kraft paper.

After all the cutting and inking was done it was time to assemble the card. For the front piece, I placed the kraft embossed piece on the large black piece. Then took the 3 pumpkins, bent the edges inward just a bit and adhered them to the embossed piece with foam dots. Making sure to work from the bottom pumpkin up and overlap each. I then wrapped the vellum around the whole piece loosely and secured it, then attached the whole piece to the base card.
For the inside I placed the large white cardstock piece on the base then positioned the small black die cut piece at the bottom. I then adhered the white print paper over the black. I took the wheat die cuts and positioned them, trimming if needed and secured them. I adhered the small orange pumpkin over them and then the small white pumpkin over it.

Supplies used for the topiary:
- Recollections Halloween nesting dies – pumpkins
- Parklane paper – Harvest
- Ribbon – 1 1/2 inch burlap with dots, 1/4 inch green
- Small terra cotta pot
- 14 in piece of 1/8 inch dowel
- Small Styrofoam ball
- Rice

How to:
To start I cut 6 pumpkins for each level, ending up with 6 small White print pumpkins, 6 medium orange print pumpkins, and 6 large black print pumpkins. Cut the stems off the medium and large pumpkins. Assemble the pumpkins edge to edge. Once done there should be enough to slip the dowel thru the middle of them.
Trace top of terra cotta pot onto coordinating paper, cut out. Pierce a hole in the middle large enough for the dowel. Pour rice in the bottom, place the Styrofoam ball in pot. You may need to adjust the rice because you don’t want the top of the ball above the top of the pot. Once adjusted pour more rice to keep the ball from moving.
Place the circle cut out over the ball/rice and the put the dowel thru the paper down into the Styrofoam. Cut 4 – 6-inch strips of burlap ribbon, fold them make a small hole in the cut end and slip them over the dowel. Then tie the green into a bow on the dowel, then using the ends make another bow, and another, until out. Slip the large pumpkin over the dowel, followed by the medium pumpkin and the small one.
