New Puppies

I hope all of you have had a great month. The break was definitely needed and made life a whole lot easier!

One, err I mean two, of the reasons for the break is highlighted on the blog this week.

For anyone who reads my blog, you will probably remember that back in May we lost our beloved Dottie to old age. Thinking of her still is a bit hard, she was such a part of our lives. And as the days after she passed moved on, we noticed that our house didn’t feel right. It was empty.

We did get a little of that back a few days after her passing, when one of our ducks – Betsie – injured her ankle and had to be brought in and rehabbed for about a month.

After Betsie was well enough to head back outside, the feeling returned, and we knew another dog was inevitable….

So, what did we get… puppies – yes, puppies – plural…

Are we crazy? Oh buddy, you better believe it.

My husband had reminisced about what it was like when we had 2 dogs before, and wanted two again…and silly me, I agreed. Sigh…

We found ourselves 2 puppies, Maddie, a six-month-old and Red, an eight-week-old.

These photos are from a couple weeks ago – they are busy – thus the reason for the break, we have been doing a lot of training since then!

Mr Red

Red at 10 weeks. A happy little pup that is not afraid of anything – well maybe not anything, he’s not a fan of Maddie when she gets mad at him and starts chasing him. But that’s usually because he just bit her tail, or ear, or nose, or….

We don’t know what breed he is, a proper little mutt! But he has the most beautiful eyes.

Miss Maddie

Miss Maddie is a loveble lab mix and is as gentle as her eyes…until she sees my husband and then she becomes this little tornado until she has had her fill of lovin’s from him.
