Birds of Metcalf: Mallard Drake

If you have ever happened by my blog before, you probably know that we have Ducks and Drakes. Two of our first four ducks that we got were mallards. My daughter picked them out, named them Love and Lovey, and unfortunately, we lost both of them. Let me tell you those were hard days. Anyway, the breed still has a special place in our daughters’ hearts, so much so that even now when we see a wild mallard, she still calls the drakes ‘Love’, and the ducks “Lovey”.
