Light from above

Staircase in the Montana Capitol Building.

The interior of the building is beautiful with lots of color and details (tromp l’oeil, tile work, stained-glass, etc.). And even though it was wonderful to see, sometimes the color can take away from the beauty of the structure.

So, I decided to convert the above image to black and white and compare the two.

Even though the original, with all the color, was beautiful, I think the black and white photo does a better job highlighting the space.
