Good morning! Today I am sharing the Spring Gingham Rag wreath. This wreath is a great way to bring a little Spring into your decor. I think it’s adorable – and it’s easy – just a little time consuming. But, I was able to get it done in just a couple nights.
Supplies Used:
- 2 yards gingham fabric (I choose pink and blue, but you can do any colors you want.)
- Wire wreath form (I got mine from the Dollar Store)
- 2 1/2-inch wired ribbon – cream
- Clear sewing thread
How to:
Start by cutting the gingham fabric into 1-inch strips. Then cut each strip in half then each half in thirds. Leaving each piece approximately 1 x 7 1/2 inches. The raw ends of the fabric are fine, and once the wreath is all put together you can’t notice them.
On the closest ring to the middle, on the wreath form, I started by tying the fabric onto it. I tied two of the same color then tied 2 of the other color and went back and forth until the row was done. Then on the next row I started with the opposite color.
I only tied the fabric to 2/3 of the wreath form. Once the gingham fabric was all done, I took 2 1/2-inch wire edged ribbon and wrapped it over the last 1/3 of the wreath form, overlapping each round. Once that was done, I secured it, trimmed it then cut 3 – 15-inch pieces of the ribbon and very loosely rolled them into rosettes. I tied the back of each rosette with clear thread (you could also use a matching thread) and attached it to the wreath.
After it was made I got looking and figured it would really be personal preference of which way you would like to hang it. I personally like the ribbon at the top.
