Good morning and Welcome to Morning Chat for October 11, 2022!

Scarecrow Festival and Halloween decor

Good morning, I hope everyone is having a great week so far. This last weekend a local small town had their annual Scarecrow Festival. It, as you may have guessed, has a bunch of scarecrows on display. But it is a little more than that. With it also being First Friday, the local shops stay open late, and the town brings in food trucks and music. It is always fun to walk around, check out the scarecrows (they had a some that were really good!), grab a bite to eat, and just enjoy.

This year we opted to go a little later then we normally do and by the time we got there the sun had already set and it started getting dark quickly. Not a big deal for my husband and me, but I did notice that our daughter’s demeanor changed. The darkness and large crowds definitely made her a bit nervous. What really made her heart pound was a person wearing a scary mask and was walking around on stilts. Very Halloween like! Luckily, we noticed her apprehension and reinforced that it was someone that just dressed up and was having fun. But that’s what Halloween is about, right? Maybe she is a bit more like me, she likes the fun kid aspect of the holiday. Candy, quirky costumes and fun decor.

Speaking of fun decor, this week I am posting about a broom parking sign, and over on MTdawns sister site, pumpkin papercraft, I am posting the Spooky Silhouette – pictured above! Hope you can check them out!

Have a great day!
