This is an easy and fun way to enjoy the falling leaves!

Leaf rubbing with crayons
If you haven’t noticed by now, I like easy, budget-friendly projects especially when it comes to kid stuff. With only having 1 child, for me, it just doesn’t make much sense to spend a bunch of money on kid stuff that will be outgrown in no time.
With that being said, leaf rubbing is another easy and cheap…eh, err lets go with affordable, yeah “affordable” project for kids.
The best thing about this project is that it only uses 3 things – plain paper (any color, we used white copy paper), crayons, and leaves.
All you do is place the paper over the leaf (make sure to hold the paper down – it will want to move) and rub the crayon over it. I find it best to rub the crayon in the same direction, but my daughters free spirit enjoys the random look – and that’s ok!

Another good idea for this activity is it can be used for homeschool. After rubbing the leaf on the paper, note its identification and see how many you different species you can find. As a homeschool mom I love easy and fun science projects!

Hope you enjoy and have a good day!
