2 ingredient creamer – Super easy!

I love coffee, I do. There are mornings that my coffee is as close to me as any blankie would be.

I also love creamer in my coffee. BUT, and that’s a big one, I don’t love all the calories in it.

Just recently I checked how many creamer calories I was drinking every morning and almost fell over. Its was over 500! The creamer I use is 35 calories for each tablespoon.

So if I have 3 tablespoons of creamer for each cup of coffee, let say 5 cups (yes I know its a lot, told you I love coffee) that comes up to 525 calories!

3×35= 105 and 5 cups 105×5=525

ugh…

I decided that’s totally too much, it’s cutting into my chocolate calorie consumption!

a simple and easy fix

I also love almond milk, and got an idea. I figured if I didn’t like it I would just throw it out.

I got a jar, mine is a pint mason jar with leak proof lid. On the side of the jar is marking for cups (1/2, 1 and 1 1/2) I filled creamer to the 1/2 cup mark and almond milk to the 1 1/2 cup mark. Gave a shake, done!

The taste does change a bit. I am using original unflavored almond milk. They do have vanilla and dark chocolate that might work really well., but I haven’t tried it. You could also use any milk or any of the dairy-free milk products like oat, coconut, or cashew milk.

What’s good

…is that it has cut back the calories. 1 cup of almond milk is 60 calories, and it has vitamins in it (vit A,E,D and calcium along with others) whereas the creamer had no vitamins. So it actually healthy! Healthier, at least.

1/2 cup creamer : 280 calories + 1cup almond milk : 60 calories =

340 calories for 1 1/2 cups creamer mix

There are 24 tablespoons in 1 1/2 cups – so – if we divide 340 by 24 we get 14.1666.

I’ll round up just to make it easy… so 15 calories per tablespoon!

And if I use 3 tablespoons creamer mix per cup: 3×15=45

And my 5 cups: 45×5= 225 calories

That save me 300 calories a day!

Ya! Just for that I deserve a cookie…and a cup of coffee…bye!
